Get Into the Legal Loop (GILL)

In 2019, Past President Hana Hardy Gunther founded the Get Into the Legal Loop (GILL) program. The program provides an opportunity for local Bay Area students and recent graduates to meet potential mentors and receive resources to support the pursuit of a legal career. Since 2019, the program is held annually during the first week of March in Silicon Valley as a Women's History Month Service Day. More information about the GILL program is available here.

The event is historically well-attended, with nearly 150 registrants each year plus a waitlist. Our sister bar associations, such as the Women Lawyers Sections of San Mateo County and Santa Clara County Bar Associations, to host this event. Judges, attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other legal professionals interested in volunteering at a GILL program as a keynote speaker, panelist, or mentor may contact the committee chairs at mentorship@queensbench.org.

QBMC x BARBRI Partnership

In 2024, QBMC partnered with BARBRI to expand available offerings to law student members and recent graduates for law school exams and bar exam readiness. Through BARBRI, QBMC is able to offer several additional programs to aspiring legal professionals, including workshops to assist students in developing study skills and scholarships to support students' exam preparation. Law students and recent graduates may access study materials once they join Queen's Bench as members or renew their memberships.

QBMC currently offers two scholarship programs via the QBMC x BARBRI Partnerships. Applications are now open for both scholarships through April 30, 2025, at bit.ly/GILL-Scholarships.

Law Preview Scholarship

The Law Preview Scholarship provides an applicant who will start law school in Fall 2025 with an opportunity to participate in BARBRI's Law Preview program. The Law Preview program is a virtual summer boot camp that provides incoming first-year law students (or "1Ls") with the tools necessary to navigate their first year of law school.  More information on the Law Preview Scholarship is available here.

Applicants must start law school in Fall 2025 or Fall 2026 to be eligible for the scholarship.

Full Circle Scholarship

The Full Circle Bar Prep Scholarship (or Full Circle Scholarship) provides a 2L, 3L, 4L, or a law graduate with a BARBRI Firm Pass Plus course package. The Firm Pass Plus package includes a bar prep course from BARBRI, individual tutoring for the essay and multiple-choice sections of the bar exam, access to both Critical Pass and Adaptibar courses, and more -- providing tools to support preparation for the bar exam and entry into the legal profession. More information on the course package is available here

Applicants must sit for a bar exam in any U.S. jurisdiction in July 2025, February 2026, or July 2026 to be eligible for the scholarship.

Law Student Liaison Program (LSLP)

Our committee oversees the Queen's Bench Law Student Liaison program, inviting 2Ls, 3Ls, 4Ls, and recent graduates from Bay Area law schools to participate in a yearlong leadership development program. Liaisons have the opportunity to participate in various workshops throughout the year while receiving academic support and mentorship directly from Queen's Bench leadership. Liaisons often go on to become promising talent at local law firms and/or leaders in Queen's Bench or other women's bar associations.
